Bantu Updates for 2023
Bantu Updates for 2023
Hello Bantu! We hope this announcement finds you well.
First of all, we would like to apologise for the delay in sending out this community update. As you know, the start of the year can be a busy time for all of us, and we wanted to make sure that we had all the latest information to share with you.
That being said, we have been working hard behind the scenes to support partners who are building enterprise projects with our Bantu Blockchain stack as well as those who are building amazing products directly on our public Bantu chain. We are doing all of this to build a stronger, more connected community. We are proud of the several milestones we have achieved despite the prolonged difficult market conditions, and we are eager to share these updates with you.
Now let’s share some partnership and community updates with you.
Partnership Updates
Bantu Network Services (BNS)
The creation of Bantu Network Services marks a significant step forward for the Bantu Blockchain Foundation and the Bantu Community. This new and independent commercial entity will play a crucial role in building out real world applications and driving the growth and development of our existing products, such as BantuPay and BantuTalk. With Bantu Network Services at the helm, we are confident that these products will reach their full potential and provide even greater value to users Newer products and services will be announced later in the year.
Bantu Network Services will also be responsible for improving and expanding the reach of these products, making them more accessible to a wider audience. This will help us to achieve our goal of building a more inclusive ecosystem, powered by blockchain technology.
Furthermore, the creation of Bantu Network Services is a testament to our commitment to delivering real-world solutions that meet the needs of our community. By commercialising our products and making them more widely available, we are helping to drive the adoption of blockchain technology and build a more sustainable future for all.
The Bantu Blockchain Foundation foundation will continue to focus on building and maintaining the Bantu Blockchain infrastructure which will remain free and open for everyone to use.
Timbuktu 2.0
The Timbuktu P2P Exchange has been a key part of the Bantu Blockchain ecosystem, bringing together merchants and traders from around the world to exchange Bantu tokens. This year, we are excited to announce that Timbuktu is getting a major upgrade, which we are calling Timbuktu 2.0.
With Timbuktu 2.0, traders and merchants will have access to a wider range of assets, beyond just Bantu (XBN). XBN will also become a base asset, allowing it to trade against other assets, providing even greater flexibility and opportunities for our community.
Timbuktu developers are committed to delivering the best possible user experience and Timbuktu 2.0 is just the beginning. With its new features and improved functionality, we believe that Timbuktu 2.0 will become an even more essential tool for traders and merchants, helping to drive the adoption of blockchain technology and promote financial inclusion.
We expect Timbuktu 2.0 to be ready in Q2 2023, and we are confident that this update will be worth the wait. We encourage everyone to stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project and we look forward to sharing more information with you in the coming months.
Trovotech is going live with Asset Tokenization, a P2P marketplace, and a Blockchain wallet
We are thrilled to share some exciting news with the Bantu Community about our partners at Trovotech Limited. Since our initial announcement, they have been working hard to bring practical blockchain solutions to our community that make use of our public blockchain network.
Trovotech will be launching several new products in Q1 of this year, starting with a powerful blockchain wallet that will support asset tokenization on the blockchain. This wallet will also feature wallet recovery in case of missing private keys, shared wallet access with different levels of authorization, and sub-wallets.
In addition to this innovative wallet, Trovotech will also be launching a P2P marketplace that will support the activities in the wallet. The Trovo Wallet will also support wrapped assets such as USDT, USDC, cNGN, BTC, ETH, BNB, and more.
To ensure the best possible user experience, Trovotech is inviting members of the Bantu Community to participate in a beta test of the Trovo Wallet. By doing so, you will have the opportunity to provide essential feedback that will help Trovotech fine-tune the first public release. If you are interested in participating in this beta test, you can join the waitlist using this link
We are confident that these new products from Trovotech will have a significant impact on the Bantu Community and we look forward to seeing the results of their efforts. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development!
Update on Visa Collaboration
We are pleased to provide an update on our collaboration with Visa. Given the recent developments in the blockchain industry, Visa has become more cautious in its collaborations with blockchain startups. However, they have reaffirmed their commitment to the Bantu Blockchain Foundation and our community.
We are excited to announce that we have received the green light to kick off the Practical Money Skills program. This program is an important part of our collaboration with Visa and we believe it will have a positive impact on our community.
At this time, we are finalising the operational plans for the Practical Money Skills program and we will provide more information as soon as possible. We encourage everyone to stay tuned for further updates on this exciting project.
Despite the challenges facing the blockchain industry, we remain committed to our collaboration with Visa and to delivering real-world solutions that meet the needs of our community. We believe that this program will play a critical role in promoting financial literacy and helping to drive the adoption of blockchain technology.
Convexity introduces cNGN, a naira stablecoin on Bantu Blockchain
We are thrilled to announce a major new development from our partners at Convexity. They have just released cNGN, a Naira stablecoin issued on the Bantu Blockchain.
The release of cNGN has the potential to make a significant impact on the lives of millions of people in Nigeria who are facing challenges such as money chargebacks, failed transactions, and double debits, as well as the unpredictable behaviour of many bank apps in Nigeria.
cNGN will be available to builders and consumers on the Bantu Blockchain Network, and it will also support other blockchain networks. This will make it even more accessible and useful for people in Nigeria and beyond.
We are proud to be working with Convexity and to see the results of their efforts. The release of cNGN is a testament to the strength and potential of the Bantu Blockchain Network, and we believe it will play a critical role in promoting financial inclusion and helping people take control of their financial future.
We encourage everyone to stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project and to learn more about cNGN and the benefits it offers.
Community Updates
We believe that attending conferences and events is a critical part of our outreach efforts, and we have been actively involved in a number of recent events. For example, we spoke at the Spark — Africa Technology Expo in Abuja in January 2023, where our contributions were so well received that we were invited to speak again the following day. We also attended a fintech conference in Ghana in January, where we had the opportunity to showcase our project and brand.
We are in the early stages of planning a potential event with one of our partners in East Africa, where Bantu Blockchain will be discussed at over 7 universities. While the dates and details are still being finalised, we are looking forward to sharing more information with you in the near future.
In addition, we are planning another Bantu Expansion event in Q2 2023 in East Africa, where we will bring our community together to share updates on our progress and reaffirm our commitment to our mission.
Finally, we are excited to announce that we will be speaking at the Blockchain Africa Conference, on March 16, 2023. This is a great opportunity for us to talk about the Bantu stack that is being used to power some new and exciting enterprise projects across Africa.
Other updates
In addition to the exciting updates outlined above, we wanted to provide some additional information about the status of the Bantu Blockchain Network.
We are pleased to report that our blockchain network has been stable and we do not have any major upgrades planned at this time. However, we are constantly analysing how our partners and developer communities are using the network, and we are working to identify areas for optimization that will help them achieve their goals more effectively.
We are also actively working to inject more liquidity into the markets to support the growth and development of our ecosystem.
Finally, we want to express our gratitude to the Bantu Community for your continued support of the Bantu Blockchain. We hope that you will extend the same support to all of the partners building on Bantu, some of whom have asked us to delay their announcements until they are ready to showcase their progress.
In conclusion, we are committed to delivering real-world solutions that meet the needs of our community and we are excited to see what the future holds for Bantu Blockchain.
Thank you Bantu for your unflinching support!
